Martial arts advice?

I want to go to China to learn kung fu. I found two places that look great. Which one would you recommend?

Martial arts advice?
Listen good, Don't be stuck in "Style this" or "Style that". Nor don't be stuck with that "I must stick to tradition" mentality. All in all, it's not about the style of martial art of whether or not it's traditional.

Regardless of whether or not those schools are focusing on "Brands", if the training is realistic and will ACTUALLY help you in self defense, then go for it.

All in all, it comes down to the training that the school offers.

Reply:This may not be what you want to hear, but a lot of these Shaolin schools now are brands - and it was a disappointment to me as I expect the Shaolin temples to hold true to Kung Fu traditions. I got the feeling this was'nt the case. My experience was improved by going to local parks and seeing demonstrations by guys who clearly knew their art, and I made a great effort to show them what I know, although compared to them, I know nothing. I am not saying you won't have a great time - you may learn loads - but true Kung Fu does'nt have a brand associated with it. And Bruce Lee said the same of his Jeet Kune Do - so I tend to hold with that statement. Good luck and if it is your first time to China I hope you love it, I did and have been five times.
