Is it possible to learn kung fu just by observation and training yourself without any master ?

probably, but you probably need to train 2x harder

Is it possible to learn kung fu just by observation and training yourself without any master ?
I think you can learn anything through observation.
Reply:you might get the jist of it but you proally wont have the right form.
Reply:Doubtful. You'll pick up bad habits and won't have anybody there to spot and correct them for you.
Reply:it is impossible for you to teach yourself kung fu just by watching, because kung fu needs discipline a determination
Reply:DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DON'T LISTEN TO THESE IN-MATURE KIDS HERE, YOU CANT LEARN PROPERLY WITHOUT PROPER INSTRUCTION, YOU CAN LEARN THOU GROUP LESIONS
Reply:Anything's possible... but it requires a hell lot of perseverence... %26amp; u must make sure u're observing the right thing.
Reply:You'll never learn this way. Just because you see a move and copy it means you already learned it. All moves actually have a point to them, it seems silly when you're doing the moves by yourself and not knowing what do you have to use them for, how to use them in combat or how to defend yourself.

trust me..i tried to learn kong fo by a book...but i couldn't

How can I learn kung-fu online?

I highly recommend getting a real instructor with real fellow students to learn with, and spar against. Online/instructional videos are supplementary at best, are are by no means a replacement for the "real thing".

Do a Google search and a Youtube video clip search for kung-fu instructional stuff.

How can I learn kung-fu online?
You can't.

Perfect requires perfect practice, not just practice. You need someone who intimately knows the art to teach you. I took a lot of karate when I was younger and some judo older and it takes someone who knows when you just aren't doing it right to demonstrate.
Reply:I highly doubt that you could. You would need an expert instructor to correct you when your form/stance isn't correct. Without that, you wouldn't have the necesarry skill to excel in the art.

My advice: go to a Kung-Fu school and learn in person!
Reply:The same place you learn to Swim online.

It's just as safe and effective, too.
Reply:You cannot. Kung Fu and other martials go far beyond just the physical techniques of fighting. This is not something to be learned online.

Where can I learn Kung-Fu?

I need to defend myself these days, because i had been holdup a few times...

Where can I learn Kung-Fu?
Give Choi Kwang Do a try (one month free). It teaches practical street defense, and the instructors are very knowledgeable.

Here's the thing about grappling, they have rules. when your are in a real street the rules don't apply. your attacker will not follow the rules, so niether should you. bite, kick, scream in his ear, do anything and everything to get up and out.

If you were held up and gun point, martial arts can not help you there. if the guy pulls out a gun, don't be a hero. even the best martial arts are no match for bullets.
Reply:The difference between Choi, which I go to, and other martial arts is practicality. Everything has a reason and purpose. Report It

Reply:At the kung-fu place nearest YOU!!! HA! I have no idea...
Reply:China DUH
Reply:IN JAPAN YOU FOOL
Reply:Get a girl to teach u in bed
Reply:There are many martial arts studios in any large city.

My best advice would be to check out your local community centres that offer similar classes. They are often cheaper and are more ideal for new-comers.
Reply:Kung Fu only exists in the movies. Learn Ju Jitsu.
Reply:Well, look into Gyms and Fitness Clubs, I know my brother took a class similar to Kung-Fu..lol
Reply:On the internet, at a Kung fu shop? Look in the yellow pages and I am sure you will find a place in there.
Reply:the closest gym.learn combat kung-fu or judu jujutso.

but take care of ur nees,
Reply:try tae kwon do (korean) and karate or judo (japanese)
Reply:Bruce Lee!!!! Did you see him in THE ONE. Right now he's showing me how to break steel walls with my face. last week he showed me how to lift weights with my eye lids(it makes for a strong face). When he's done training me i'm going to take over the world after I rule all of china.
Reply:There are varieties of "Kung-Fu" in the world...

Different gyms may teaches different kinds of art.

Honestly, if you're trying to find something which can help you in a holdup up situation, then perhaps you should really really rethink about what you want to do with the skills you learn...

Happy Learning.
Reply:You can learn it in any academy. Look at the kung-fu association in your area.
Reply:from old jackie chan movies
Reply:Depends on where you live. Look in the online Yellow Pages around your zip code.

Stuff to think about...

It takes a long time to become proficient at martial arts and it requires a lot of dedication and practice. I highly recommend researching different styles because they are not all street practical. Also most fights end up on the ground within the first minute so something with grappling would be a good idea. Have you ever watched Ultimate Fighting? I've seen boxers and karate guys get taken down to the floor real fast. Once that happens the boxer can't punch and the karate guy can't kick or strike. You seem to be looking more for self defense than you are the art and discipline so keep that in mind when looking.
Reply:In the Kungfu class...lol. You need to defend yourself, thats a good perspective but I encourage you to study more about it, its philosophy and history if you go to this kinda class. YOu 'd have more progress.

How to learn kung-fu, martial arts on net?
Hi ! try these sites..
Reply:How the hell do you expect to learn if there is no one standing in front of you ready to kick your butt !!!
Reply:martial arts on line?

it is like learning medicine on line!!

u definetly need a guide to teach all the naunces of martial arts!!
Reply:You just can't!

It's like saying how can I eat on the net!
Reply:I highly recommend you don not try to learn from the net. its a good way to get a technique wrong and blow out a joint. people have hurt themselves bad enough trying to learn yoga from film. Yes you may be able to get it right but I do not think the risk is worth it. how ever if you learn one form first properly and then modify the to technique to kung fu it will greatly increase the learning curve and lower the possibility of injury
Reply:Don't. That's all I can say. Just don't. You will never learn control or application. And for sure you'll learn at least one move wrong. It's very dangerous.
Reply:Previous posters are correct, you cannot learn they physical skills without correction from an expert.

Why not post your location and maybe someone can help you find a local martial art school.
Reply:I hate to tell you that you will never learn good martial arts from the internet.

Even though you have a good teacher, you do not actually learn martial arts or kung fu from your teacher. He/she can guide you the way how to do it.

It is a process that you need to go through yourself, practise it.

My suggestion to you is to be physically active.

when you meet a good teacher, it is never to late to practise it.
Reply:how do u expect to learn martisl arts online thats a funny one.........u simply cant do it....
Reply:Seems like you posted this before,

As i posted before, it depends on what reasons you want to take it for. Are you looking to sport fight, for fitness or for protection? You can learn alot from DVDs %26amp; books - But however, you will still need the attention from an instructor. Using these online tools will get you a head start for when you do start classes. Good luck
Reply:Martial art goes with our mind... we have to do meditations as well.....and we need a teacher to estimate our level or stage...

u cannot measure your level through the net...

You can learn the theory part from the net... but practical, i don't think so....

where do u live?

may be i can find a good place for u...

CAn I LEArn KUng Fu?

yes even if your hurt or broken the instructer will know what to and not to do... you can do anything if your dedicated... like i know i can never be the best .. but i try anyways so i wont regret it and ill give it all..... go to a few schools and go to each class for at least 3 time because they might do diffrent things some times.. and go to diffrent schools to see withch one will give you the best training and how the techer is like and the people your going to be around.... because if they are all stuck up and they think thier the best then you really dont want to go to that school even if they are really good.... beside the self defence its about respect and loyalty

CAn I LEArn KUng Fu?
sure u can learn anything if u put your mind to it
Reply:Yes
Reply:You can learn whatever you like if you want to.
Reply:If you want! HHHIIIIEEEYYYYAAAAA!!!!!!!
Reply:For sure man you can... BUT to be like Jackie Chan you need at least 25 years my cousin now 15 years on kung fu..it is great but painfull in the first 5 years .... join them it is cool believe me you wont regret it...
Reply:You sure can! As long as you dedicate yourself, you can do anything.

Go to google and look up "kung fu in (your city, state)" and you're likely to find a decent teacher. Heck, we have three here, and I live in Texas... so anything's possilbe.

Barring that, you can always check your local library or online for books on the subject. To take this approach, however, you have to be really serious, because you won't have anyone telling you what you're doing wrong, and that could lead to crappy technique and/or injuries.

Good luck, and be safe!
Reply:Since written English do not appear to be your field, try any of the Martial Arts.

Your spellings are OK, just take care of the upper and lower cases, of alphabets, while writing.
Reply:find an instructor and your on your way.
Reply:Not if you type LIkE DiS REtArd!
Reply:Only if you are dedicated to your discipline and are ready to put a lot of time and effort into it!

.
Reply:Yes, and I suggest the first thing you learn through "kung fu" which literally means "hard work, or achievement" I suggest would be to use capital letters appropriately.

"kung fu" as you mean to ask is actually CMA or chinese martial arts. Whether you can learn it or not depends on whether you find a good teacher and school that trains you realistically.

If you don't train with resistance and realistically then you are just attending a pajama party and not learning CMA.

CMA unfortunately does have a large number of teachers that don't teach with resisting opponents and focus on forms too much without knowing the proper application of the forms.
Reply:Yes.
Reply:I don't see why not

Can i learn kung-fu?

If possible, check out the schools in your area that teach kung-fu. Watch a class or two and talk to the instructors, then choose the school you think would be best for you. If there are no kung-fu schools in your area look into one of the other martial arts. All the arts are good. Just check out each school and decide which one best suits you.

Reply:I know a website that can provide the e-book about Kung Fu, http://www.knowhowing.com/whatweknow.htm... .
